In addition, 1998 marked the first phase of our financial planning services. Surveys showed that middle-income Americans are seeking financial planning advice, and millions of baby boomers are now seriously preparing for their retirement years. To further strengthen our hold on the financial planning marketplace, we built a national accounting practice, HRB Business Services. As a result, we now offer a wider array of tax, financial, and accounting services to an expanded customer base that includes more higher-income clients and small- to medium-sized businesses.
