Q: How much will it cost to establish and run an H&R Block franchise, and what does that cost include?

A: Out of all the major tax companies in the franchise industry, H&R Block has the lowest initial investment cost. Some of our competitors require an initial franchise fee that ranges from $24,000 to $39,000. However, you can operate a new H&R Block franchise for no initial fee, other than a fully refundable $2,500 security deposit. Plus, you don't pay any additional costs for national marketing and advertising.

Our service includes a specially designed office with furniture and décor available for purchase from our exclusive supplier, and a very reasonably priced insurance program. For a minimal fee (sales tax, freight and installation), we provide signage and proprietary tax software. Our experience can help you with questions you may have regarding payroll, office design, professional fees, start-up supplies, zoning fees, utility deposits and leasing your office.

Q: What type of training will I be required to take to own an H&R Block franchise?

A: As a new franchisee, you will be able to participate in the five-day new franchise orientation training program that will teach you about operational issues, business planning, local marketing, branding, client experience and other valuable operational tools to help you promote and ensure your franchise's success. In addition, we also offer ongoing basic and advanced training through our income tax course, seminars and national operations meetings.

Our field managers are equipped to provide you with all the tools you need to succeed and are there to assist you at any time with all facets of business operations.

Q: How much advertising, marketing and public relations support can I expect?

A: H&R Block spends significantly more on national marketing and advertising than its nearest competitor. Best of all, you are not required to contribute any additional revenue for our national advertising campaigns.

In addition, H&R Block offers your franchise free local public relations and marketing support. In fact, we have an entire staff dedicated to assist you with marketing in your local community.
